The rodeo features traditional events such as bull riding, barrel racing, roping, and other classic competitions, creating an authentic western experience for spectators and participants alike. Established as a new event hosted by the Idaho City Chamber of Commerce and held each June, Gold Rush Rodeo was created to build on Idaho City’s long rodeo tradition while strengthening community engagement and local economic activity.
